Why disturb your pet’s normal routine by moving them out to boarding kennels or into a strange house they’re not used to? I come to you.
Your dog keeps their own bed, their own garden and the walks they know. Your cat keeps their favourite windowsill. I fit into their day rather than asking them to fit into mine, and it’s the same person every time: me. While I’m there, your house is occupied and looked after as well. That’s peace of mind knowing they’re safe at home, in the environment they’re comfortable with.

My diary is open for the whole of 2026 and beyond. No aggressive dogs or banned breeds, no school-holiday supplement, and any pet sit of more than 14 nights gets one night free.
Meet Brian
One person. The one you met. Every time.
I’m Brian, Southport born and based, and a lifelong dog owner. I started The Grange in October 2025 because so many people I spoke to struggled to find someone honest, reliable and totally trustworthy to care for their dog the way it deserves.
It’s just me. I come to your home, learn your pet’s routine at the free meet & greet, and then I stick to it. I’m fully insured, DBS checked, and my references are there for the asking.

No, never. I come to you. Your pet stays at home, in their own bed, with their own routine. I don't board or kennel dogs.
What happens at the meet & greet?
I come to your home for up to an hour, free of charge and with no obligation. I meet you and your pets and go through where keys are kept, food and feeding times, your vet in case of emergency, usual walks and routes, and any quirks and needs. I always do this before taking on a new client.
Are you insured?
Yes. I'm fully insured, DBS checked, and I have excellent references available on request.
What areas do you cover?
All of Southport, from Ainsdale in the south to Crossens in the north. That includes Ainsdale, Birkdale, Hillside, Southport town centre, Churchtown, Marshside and Crossens. I cover Banks and other nearby areas too, for a small supplement to cover the travel.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you know your dates. It's first come, first served, and I'll hold provisional dates for 48 hours while you finalise a holiday. If you can, check my availability before you book the holiday.
What does an overnight include?
A full 24-hour cycle. I arrive from about 5pm for the teatime feed, stay the night in your home, then do the morning feed and a short walk before I leave about 9am. Around lunchtime I call back for another short walk, and that's included in the price. At 5pm I'm back and it starts again. From £50 per night for one dog.
Do you charge more in school holidays?
No. A bank-holiday supplement applies, and we'll agree that at the meet & greet.
How do I pay?
Payment and any deposit are agreed at the meet & greet, so you know exactly where you stand before anything is booked. A cancellation charge may apply if a booking is cancelled at the last minute.
Do you look after cats?
Yes. Pop-in visits are ideal for cats: feeding, litter tray, fresh water and a bit of company, in their own home.
Can you walk more than one dog?
Yes, up to four dogs from the same household. Two dogs from the same home are from £20 an hour. I don't do big group walks.
